Ready to spend a Sunday in the "Yard"? We’re heading to Mad Oak for an afternoon of competitive spirit and great vibes. This is our first time facilitating an event at this awesome Oakland venue, and we can’t wait to see the pieces fly!
Whether you’re a speed puzzling pro or just looking to click a few pieces together while enjoying the rooftop air, there’s a spot for you.
The Fun
- Speed Puzzling Competition: Ready to put your skills to the test? We’ll be running two heats of competition. Every team gets to keep their competition puzzle, and the fastest finishers take home a prize! Registration is required for competition spots.
- 3:00 PM: Pairs Competition (300 pieces)
- 5:00 PM: Team Competition (up to 4 people - 500 pieces)
- Casual Puzzling: No pressure, no clock—just pure puzzling fun. We'll have tables set up with a variety of jigsaw puzzles for you to work on at your own pace. (Free!)
- Puzzle Swap: Breathe new life into your collection! Bring a puzzle you’ve already completed and trade it for one that’s new to you at our swap table. (Free!)
The Fuel
Mad Oak offers a massive selection of draft beers, a full bar for craft cocktails, and rotating food pop-ups in the yard to keep your brain fueled while you hunt for those elusive edge pieces.

- Ages: Please note that Mad Oak is a 21+ venue.
- Registration: While casual puzzling and the swap are free, registration is required for the Speed Puzzling competitions. Secure your spot via the links below!
To register, select the event you want to participate in. Purchase one registration per pair/team. Double check the Date, Location, Time and/or Piece Count.
Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours before the event for a refund. If we are unable to sell your spot you will be responsible for the price of the puzzle. The puzzle will then be yours and you can pick it up at a future event.
And don't forget to come up with an awesome name for your team! You'll tell us at check-in.
